Achieving excellence in fields of medicince, education and research in line with Islamic Principles


In recognition of excellence in teaching and research of the faculty and students of Prime Foundation's institutions (Peshawar Medical College, Peshawar Dental College, Rufaidah Nursing College and Prime Institute of Public Health), an Awards Ceremony was held at Peshawar Medical College on 5th October 2017. Prof. Dr. Anees Ahmad, Vice Chancellor Riphah International University, was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Najib ul Haq, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, Peshawar Medical College, in his welcome address, explained the need and importance of the ceremony and shared the future vision of the Prime Foundation and its institutes, in this context.

This was followed by distribution of awards for publications, during the given period. The awards, including cash prizes and certificates, were distributed among 47 student and faculty researchers that published 30 articles, meeting the criteria for incentives, in high impact factor journals and journals in good standing, as per HEC categorization.

Awards of excellence for leading the significant educational, research, community service and institutional development activities were given to Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad (Principal, Peshawar Medical College), Dr. Tallat Firdos (Principal, Peshawar Dental College), Mr. Malik Taj (Director, Rufaidah Nursing College), Dr. Saeed Anwar (Director, Prime Institute of Public Health) and Dr. Ayesha Sumera Abdullah (Vice Dean, Health Professions Education & Research).

Last but not the least, were the awards for the Best Teachers. The best teacher award in the order of first to third for Basic Sciences went to Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, Dr. Farzana Salman and Prof. Dr. Ihsanullah Wazir. For Clinical Sciences of Peshawar Dental College, it went to Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq, Dr. Muhammad Raza and Dr. Zafar ul Islam. For Clinical Sciences of Peshawar Medical College, it went to Prof. Dr. Fazli Wahab, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tayyab and Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb Afridi.

Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, in his address, congratulated the award winners, explained the importance of teaching and research in current context, and encouraged everyone present to excel in these areas as part of professional and personal growth.

The ceremony concluded with a sumptuous dinner, which was accompanied by congratulations being received by the award winners from fellow faculty members and students.
