Dr. Khan is a Surgical Pathologist who graduated from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar University in 1976 and then obtained his degree in Morbid Anatomy including Histopathology in 1992 from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad being trained at Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) Rawalpindi. Before joining Peshawar Medical College in 2010 he worked at many places which included Army Medical Corps, Capital Hospital Islamabad, Prince Mansour Military Hospital, Taif, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Gomal Medical College, D.I. Khan and Kohat Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Kohat. At Peshawar Medical College he is working as Senior Consultant in Histopathology besides teaching undergraduate students and postgraduate scholars.

He has 40 publications to his name which include 25 original articles, 10 case reports and 5 editorials.

His interests include FNAC, endometrial curettage interpretation in Abnormal Uterine Bleeding and ovarian teratomas.
